There will be no priestly ordinations in our diocese until at least 2013. Several young men expect to be ordained at that time. In addition, retirements over the next 5 years will bring the number of diocesan priests in active ministry to below 100.

Has God put a young man in your parish, marked with a deep faith and love for the Lord and a desire to bring that love to others? Have you talked to him? Might priesthood be the answer to his hungry heart? How will he know if no one speaks to him about it?

Prayer for Priests:
Call men to be priests, Lord. Call men who are loving, alive with faith! Bless them with courage to say `yes' to Your call. Bless their families who give us a son so that others may have a Father. Bless the people they prepare to serve. And bless me with the generosity to walk with them each day in prayer; giving them strength from my faith, sustenance from my love. Let their vocations not be `Too good to be true'. Amen.
